window regulator fixed today did i pay too much

I paid about 150 for the part an fitted myself but took a good few hours as never done one before an never worked on a z4 before
So garage rates 50£ an hour ish 3 hours an your there,
Although rates could be less then add vat,
Always best to get a quote a good indy should be able to look up times to do certain jobs an quote accurately

Jesus, so expensive, I bet it'll cost that at a BMW specialist.
I paid £150 for my local indie to do it. That's parts and labour.
It depends if they replaced the whole regulator or just the cable , depending what happened (wth other people's lower quotes).
Both of mine have been done but under warranty. I don't think that cost is all that bad. The part is a generic price, and not esp cheap even if you're doing it yourself. Time allocated to put the car in the garage, disconnect the battery, door card, membrane and sealant removal, airbag, replace the part and then reverse. A new membrane alone if they replace it as part and parcel is over 30 with vat alone if you want it done properly.

Back on this subject, collected my car on Monday night. Today is the first time I've seen it since and in daylight ... The dealership has torn the light film tint ! Not happy, careless work. I now want to have a look under the door card and see what retarded work has been done fitting the new membrane.
