Window regulator and warranty

Evening all,

cable snapped (I think), last night. Thought at first it was as a result of the bass, but it seems to be a common problem.

Now my doors have had sound dampening material fitted (by myself) and the car is still in warranty (purchased as an AUC from Sytner in Feb '13).

What are everyone's thoughts on trying to get it fixed under warranty? I do worry if I take the car, they'll open it up, tell me the bill is £100000000 (may be a little exaggerated...just a little though :P ) and then tell me I have to pay them for their time when I decline their charges.

Any help would be greatly received.

They would have to prove that would you have done has had a direct effect on the regulator failing not to pay out.

Well its the cable that has snapped, and my past experience of big german companies (namely Mercedes Benz UK) has me thinking that in grey areas, they will simply refuse to do anything about it.

Would all the numerous threads on the forum be sufficient evidence to say that there is a potential underlying problem with the mechanism/design that I could use to my favour?
