Window/rear wheel problems

Hi All,

Well I went out in my car on Sat and now have 2 new issues :( I could hear intermittent scraping from the passenger rear wheel, it didn't seem to effect the handling but the noise was pretty loud. I'm thinking this could have been a bit of the rear spring breaking? or maybe just a trapped stone or something. I couldn't see anything.

My next problem is the passenger window. I was driving along with it half open and there was a loud bang at which point the window dropped into the door then closed itself automatically and is now jammed shut. I'm guessing the window has separated from the runner? Its under warranty so gonna book it in.

Cheers

The first one sounds like it may be a wheel bearing; is it once per revolution and sort of a rubbing/droning/drumming noise?

The second sounds like a window regulator fail. This thread: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12871&hilit=regulator has the details.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. The noise from the wheel was more like a metalic scraping noise that did seem to be once per revolution. It also made a high pitched scraping noise when I put it into reverse on the same day but its been fine since.

Cheers

Possibly a stone in the brake bellhousing then, trapped between the bell (non-rotating) and the disc (rotating). Not sure how you'd check short of taking the wheel and disc off.
