Window opening by itself??

Hi guys,

I've found that about twice when I've returned to my car and opened the lock via the remote key, the driver side window is automatically winding itself back up. At first I was alarmed that maybe I forgot to shut the window before I left (but I wouldn't have opened it anyway - it's freezing at the mo!) Is there a trigger thing on the remote that causes my driver window to wind down by itself and then wind back up again once I get into the car?? Has anyone experienced this? :idunno:

The windows always lower slightly (about an 1 inch) when you get in they go back up, this is because the seal into the softop, so if the didnt lower you couldnt get in :D

If you mean the windows is going all the way down, the only thing I can think is that you have the option programmed that lowers the window if you press the unlock button twice, and the open the door, windows drops fully and raises when you close the door to help with access

would like to tha program done on mine but dont think I can

Yep must be programmed to do that,, you can take the key to the dealers and get it re set.

Actually I've went and pressed the 'unlock' button twice (well 3 times for good measure) and sure enough the window did wind down fully and then back up again once I got inside and closed the door! At least I know now why it happened! Thanks guys...

I think that is very useful, especially if you have a single garage like me, but doesnt appear it possible to program on all cars, will find out when eventually i get mine done, ony had the car 9 months.

my zed does the same thing, press the open button more than once and the window comes down when you open the door. its a bit of a pain because if you get in, close the door and then start the engine before the window gets all the way back up..... it'll come back down again! happened today in Morrisons carpark, pissing with rain... yeh look at me in the sports car with the yo-yo window letting in all the rain felt like a bit of a knob TBH.

I was going to ask, what happens if you get in when it's raining? I'm sorry but this seems like the dumbest option ever due to that reason. The window going down about an inch is neat.

the idea is you only press the open button twice if you want the window to go down

just the once if its raining

Oh, I missed that in previous posts. Now that I know that.....i'm undecided on if i'd like this feature.
I would like that once the top goes completly down that the windows would roll all the way down and not up.

This feature must be programmed in/out, or year specific.

It sure doesn't happen on mine (even before I fitted the Reinhold module.)

1 press to open the drivers door, 2nd the passenger and no window opening.

Now with Reinhold 1 for driver, 2 for passenger, 3 for both windows down (or hood in the Summer when no hardtop on)

You hit the nail on the head, with the year and I believe country spec.

I would like this function, but guess when it comes to it the dealer will say that he can only program to pen the passanger door after two presses.

You can have the keys (individually) programmed to open one or both dors on the first press.

Thats exactly what happened to me last night as I finished work, it was pouring down with rain and the wind was so howling strong, I pressed 'unlock' as I was running towards the car then for some reason I pressed it again when I got to the car, so what happened? Stupidly of course the driver side window went all the way down and then I turned the engine on straight away and the window just stayed open :headbang: while me and my seat were filling up with rainwater :x .
