Window lines

Getting these marks on my side windows whenever i wind them down its a real nuisance, have cleaned the glass spotless and also tried wiping the rubber seals either side but it still persists, anyone else bugged by this?

I can remember reading a solution on here somewhere to that problem (which is common) - but cant remember what the solution is :headbang:

Grease probably from the regulator mechanism on the lower part of the wiper seal (the velvet like piece)

Cleaning won't do much, so you may have to replace them, although I have seen reports it returns.

Just wound down the windows and wiped across the seals with a rag on a screwdriver was amazed at the grit and crap that came off, will now make this a regular part of cleaning.

Only if you want to show your age. :poke:
Most folk now simply say "raised" or "lowered".
Wouldn't be so archaic if the mechanism was still a gear and lever, even if motor operated. At least in the Zed, it's a cable arrangement, so there's not much winding going on, though I suppose the motor itself still goes round and round. :)

I don't think I've ever owned a car that hasn't done this on one window or another. Easiest solution, if it annoys you that much, is keep a cloth handy to wipe the marks off.
