Window goes up, window goes down (PROBLEM)

I was using my remote close which was fitted the other week and I noticed that the pasinger side window went up and then down again (half way I think). I thought this might of been I problem with the moduel but when I used the one tutch close in the car it also came back down.

I have noticed this does not happen everytime, Im thinking maybe the seal is too night and a senor is telling to open again, as if something was traped in the window???

Any thoughts???
 
A few people have reported this on the E89 also, but as you say its random on whether it does it, and also which window goes back down, although I think its always one of the front ones on the E89?

I think it probably is to do with the anti-trap feature.

Is this it:

Turn ignition on

Push the open window button until the window is open, then keep it presses for 5 seconds longer.

Push the close window button until it is closed, then release.

This should reset the memory on the window. Same procedure for both windows.
 
It's similar to what I do but hold the button for a few seconds after raising and lowering and do it a couple of time up and down on both sides.

Thanks all for the great reset window information. I had a problem today after the battery change. after I close the top, passenger window didn't go all the way up automatically. I read this forum and did the same thing:
turn on the car,
One windows all the way down holding the button and when it is down keep it 5 sec. And then up and closed. this reset didn't work until I did the following:
what I also did is After the window reset procedure, I turned off the car and waited 8 sec. And turned on the car again.
And viola! It was all set! I think I needed to restart the computer system.

Convenience opening? The car can be set to automically open the window half way upon opening a door which assists entering/exiting the car in when parked in confined spaces.
 
errr... it's an undocumented feature on the car when the key fob's set to convenience opening.

Solution as above is either to do a window reset and/or disable convenience opening as sometimes mine used to:

- it works just as it should
- sometimes the window goes halfway down when you open the door, sometimes all the way down
- sometimes as above shut then half open

Annoying at first, then felt car had a personality... then disabled convenienece opening & not happened since...
