Is there a decent window cleaning fluid that will get all the old crud off the screen?

I don't know what I've got on it but its awful, tried mr muscle window cleaner but its no good... So I need something that the window cleaning equivalent of a clay bar :)

Don't laugh but I've actually clayed my windscreen many times, you will be amazed at the difference in your windshield after claying, especially if you thought the glass was clean before, just use plenty of lube. Once you have clayed the screen you just need to clean it with good glass cleaner. I find Autoglym fast glass works well for me

I have got fast glass but I've just got some 3M stuff from polished bliss, they seem to like it on detailing world and it was only £5

Best glass cleaner I've found (and all round the house) is 'SilverSil' - I pay £1.37 for 1 litre from local double glazing co. Eurocell plc.
Definitely worth a try, don't pay Amazon prices.

i wouldn't be surprised if the mr muscle stuff has some sort of rainX or hydrophobic particulate in it as the screen dries really quick and smears like I've seen rainx do in the past. I'm not a great fan tbh as i don't like the way it can be a bit hazy with the wipers.

i did wonder if you could clay the screen... dont see why not.... ill look into some of that other stuff asap as you could literally see s**t all the other day. the damp roads were getting alot of spray and the low sun + smearing = no vision at all. i could barely see the end of the bonnet

I came across this video last week using wire wool.
