Window catching speaker magnet

Have installed a 4" morel speaker in the door - speaker is not huge - the window is catching it on the way down, feels like it sucks the panel in when the window goes down and back out when the window goes up..

Anyone got any ideas?
Speaker is tiny bit too big to for from the front..

Get a smaller speaker or fit a spacer !

Spacer will only push the speaker out more into the door..as they are mounted on the inside..

£260 speaker...not sure I want to spend more on another speaker..

Another option was to make the hole few mum bigger and Mount them from the outside...but did not want to distroy the panel.

I think you may be misunderstanding....

If the speaker is only just making contact with the rear of the speaker, you need to push that part of the doorcard out by a few mm

If you try attaching a suitably sized washer to the fixing point circled below - use double-sided tape - it should push that area of the doorcard into the cabin by a small amount - you may have to experiment to get the thickness correct using two or more washers, and possibly replacing the fixing screw/bolt at that location with a slightly longer one

Pushing that part of the doorcard out may mean that the surrounding area no longer makes firm contact with the door membrane but small patches of felt should remedy this.


Alternatively... you say that it appears to 'suck the doorcard in' when the window goes down - if the window is making light contact with the rear of the speaker, you would expect it to push the speaker out when the window goes down, I don't know how you routed your wiring but are you sure the window or window mechanism isn't catching on the speaker wires as this could pull the speaker back towards the door?

Been wanting to pick this up again, i actually need to push the speaker back futher as it is touching the door - the tuner was not able to fully tune the speaker incase it damages it..will get a pic up later to show you what i mean

so i need to pop the washer to push the speaker back little, also then put a washer as your pic above.

just hoping it will work.
