Hi, I was searching the web for possible a wind blocker for my 05 z4. Found this and was wondering if anyone has purchased one from this company. No but I dont like those straps.. there was one with clear strap. I forgot which one was better, plexi vs something, one shatters the other one doesn't. someone here will know.

According to the listing. These are held on with Velcro straps. Was looking at the Plexiglass ones. Just my personal preference but Iam not fond of the look. Prefer the Messh ones. Might just pull the trigger on the ones with the Rails the OEM ones. But the price is robbery. Not in a rush to purchase and not really looking to bugger up the install. As I have read the removal of the Roll over covers are a pain easy to break clips.

Personally I like the look and it performs well for such a low outlay - my car is black so it blends in. As I say 5+ years on and no issues.

Recommend www.roadstersolutions.com , click on Z4 of course, and scroll down to the plexiglass one. Have had this for 12 years; it fits, and does the job. I like the no straps, and it does the blocking. No drill install. It fits into three hard rubber slots. Actually lifted mine out today to treat and polish with plastic polish. Dealer wanted to sell the OEM kind, but wanted more protection. Not sure how well they do. The ones with lights around it? Not so much for us. This one works;

I like the one you linked to the best from those shown in this post and I don't think $169 USD is a bad price but I choke over the $69 USD shipping charge...outrageous IMO.
I have never been a fan of the look of the clear Plexiglas ones but I watched the install video of that lighted one. I think the website said something like no permanent modifications. OK but it also isn't really removable. Sure you can remove it but only once and then you would need fresh double face tape for the center area and I wonder if their clamping system mars the roll bar covers. You install it but never remove it...that would eliminate that one from the running for me.

Edit: just checked the E bay listing out and I see why the shipping is high, it is shipping from the Netherlands...now it makes sense.
Old Duckman- will let you know. But first I have to get front end sorted. Last night. chap came into my lane as I was making a turn at a light. I Hit the darn curb avoiding the crash. Had to get a new tire on left front but shop could not do alignment as they say the strut is out so may need replaced. Ugh just put new struts and springs on it about 3k ago!! Have appt at a BMW ind on Tues this week to drop off. So WindBlocker will have to wait a bit. I am so chapped!!! But they tell me frame and everything else looked good. So plus there. Guess it could have been worse.

Well I’m 65 (guess I fit squarely in that geriatric crowd) and have had a convertible in one form or another since I was 21. I never had a wind deflector and I already have tinnitus. I do want a wind deflector for the Zed. I guess it will help even with the windows down but I can understand why it would be less effective. I have never driven any of my convertibles with the top down and the windows up, I doubt that I ever will. Heater on with the top down...absolutely!
