Wind victim

Strong winds on Fylde coast very noisy night. Lots of banging and rattling.

On looking out the window first thing, saw the cause. Wheelie bin virtually empty had been blown from its normal position 20m down the driveway over a wall only to be stopped by the Z4 front end.

Not done 500 miles yet but nice scuff and a few very fine cluster of scratches on front bumper.

Took it round to my friendly paint shop man who always do my work and he had a quick go with rubbing compound and got rid of the scuff but it left a very small chip but noticeable.

He has ordered some paint for touching up and he will do it Monday. Should be able to fill the the chip and polish out the scratches without major surgery.

Bins now moved to a hopefully more secure location.

Sorry to hear, bad luck :(
Windy here too, just been out to check nothing can fly around our garden, put chairs etc in the shed. Glad you posted your misfortune it may have helped me and anybody else who read your post.

So sorry op... Sounds like a lucky escape with only minor damage.

How unpleasant. Puts things in perpective. What's a couple of paint scratches in the scheme of things.

Hope your friend heals quickly.

She's really fed up. Can't feed herself, drinking with a straw etc etc.
it's the toilet situation I'm worried about, her poor husband  :)

mrs mad 4 got blown over and badly bruised both her knees so she coudnt walk, it was awful,... I had to CARRY her downstairs to make my breakfast !!!

then I read about an elderly gent who got blown off the pavement and killed when a bus couldnt avoid him and ran over his little finger, .................well , he was picking his nose at the time!!!! the old ones are the best !!!

A customer of mine bought a brand new Renault van, drove it home from the dealer, woke up the next morning a tree had fallen on it, writing it off.

Bloody good job too, I hate Renaults

Follow up to "Wind damage".

First decent country drive in new(ish) Z4 on Saturday. Lovely day.

Called in to see friends on way home. While there an embarrasing totally non wind related silly accident involving a small wall led to a cracked rib for yours truly.

The paint issue now assumes minor proportions. Boy is it painful for a old wrinkly with a cracked rib to get in and out of a Zed. Needed to drive it home and get to the NHS Walk In Centre for a 2 hour wait Sunday morning, sh** load of pills and sympathy but that will be my last ride for a while with or without car.

Absolutely perfect justification for a SmartTop though. Roof up via remote, geriatric crippled body forced in accompanied by multiple loud expletives and roof down. Job done. The fact that it was p****** down Sunday morning probably just confirmed to the astonished onlookers at nearby bus stop that Z4 Roadster owners will do pretty much anything to be seen posing. I did however draw the line by leaving the 'shades' off and used my normal adaptable tinted glasses, but to be fair it was a bit overcast so I didn't entirely let the side down.

To save the forum comedians the trouble, I can say right side rib cage not withstanding I am able to perform normal activities, ablutions etc. pretty much as per usual if rather more noisily.
