Yes, yes and yes :-)

Don't expect them to eliminate all wind and noise, but they are an improvement.

I have the OE wind deflector in my E85 and I leave it in all the time. I even left it in all winter with the hardtop on.

eBay is a good place to start - there are several types available.

They are a huge improvement, though as Dan says they won't eliminate all the buffet & noise... But then you have no roof... Windows up or down with the deflector makes a difference too - over about 50mph I stick the windows up if it's getting too blowy or chilly.

The 'gimp' leather one that slides over the roll hoops and clips to the trim is easiest to fit if you don't have the OEM fitted one. The parts for the OEM fitted one do come up on eBay, but there's levels of install you can do :

- the bit between the hoops, with fitting rails, can be done with care by simply screwing the fittings onto the hoops (RJS-Z4 did this on his car)
- the boot-lid storage rails, just screw on to existing fittings
- the inserts that sit inside the hoops, more complicated as the hoop covers need removed and I *think* this is pretty difficult to do from what I've seen.

You'll probably end up spending £150-250, depending on which one you choose to do.

Possibly a daft question - have you checked to see if the rails on the inside of the roll over bars are there?

When I purchased mine, I started looking into fitting one and discovered that all the fittings were already in place... then someone pointed out that the deflector itself is inside the boot-lid while not in use
