This caught my eye and reminded me how poor the wind deflectors are.
I spent some time experimenting on a MGTF and came up with this:

which made a big difference.
One day I will try the same on the Zed to see the difference it makes.
 
The deflector in the video is plastic, I wonder what the noise level is with the fabric deflector, I'm sure my car's not as noisy as the one in the clip :|
 
I think there is evidence that rigid plastic deflectors create more noise and air turbulence in the car. Hence why they tend to be mesh.
