anyone know where i can get hold of a retro fit wind deflector dont want the horrid fabric one that pulls down over !! would like one like the e89 but for e85

I've got one, yep. Wouldn't say it was worth anywhere near £310 - maybe you can get one cheaper from eBay or a friendly dealer - but it does make a difference, especially if you have a wife/GF with long hair. Because it is mesh you can leave it fitted all the time, and even if it doesn't turn out to be very effective when used normally, you can try trapping your wife/GF's hair (or even her whole head) in it to stop her whining.

I'd recommend you confirm with the store, but I believe that one is the one that you can retrofit by drilling and self-tapping a few screws into you existing roll hoop covers, e.g. as people have done in this thread: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=20470

The alternative is to buy OEM wind deflector-ready roll hoop covers, but I suspect they are fairly shockingly priced too. There is also a nifty kit that lets you store the deflector under the lid of the boot.

Sorry but how much? It doesn't fit in the boot................ Pass me another brown paper bag I'm hyperventilating :o

Needs a fitting kit but its OEM (and fits in the boot!)

Keep an eye out. Mine cost me about £75 and I bought the fitting kit for 25 from BMW. Sorted.

Drilled the hoops myself, and yes, it's WELL worth it.
