Wind deflector

Has anyone got a wind deflector for their roadster? I'm thinking of getting one by I don't know whether to go through my local BMW dealer or do it myself. Does anyone know where I could get one (apart from my BM dealer off course)? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I asked this recenly, seems 2 options -1 pulls over the roll hops, avail on ebay for £120 ish. IMO ruins the looks a bit.

The other is a proper fit by a BMW dealer or specialist, seems it would be alot more money though - but it does look good. Check my thread a page or so back, cannot remember the title sorry.

There is a clear plastic unit avail from Roadster Solutions that install easily and works very well.

I recently installed the acrylic wind sreen for Bavauto.com, it looks the same as Roadsters solutions. It installs easy and is almost invisable. The only draw back is it is a semi-permanent install as it will loosen with removals over time. There's no need to remove it except to clean the rear glass window. You can clean the window with it in but you need to be a contortionist.

I have the optional mesh one which clips into two rails on the roll hoops. It does work reasonably but I still get buffetting at speed, might be due to my height at 6ft?

I have the Roadster Solutions type from Bavarian Auto.

My mate is getting a Z4 tomorrow and it has a wind deflector, not sure which one though. I will try and see it in the next week and see how it compares to my non-deflector equiped Zed.

At the moment I don't care, 1st convertible and I've been driving with the roof down at ALL times unless its raining or really late at night (i.e 2am).

Hell, when summer hits over here (soon) 2am will be the only time people are more willing to drive with the top down. It's just too damn hot any other time.

finally, an affordable solution!! :D

oh yah, fyi ... cost is going to be in the range of $300 to $350 in Canadian Dollars for the wind deflector

at the stealership, to install the mesh one, it was nearing $1000
