Wind Deflector

I haven’t had my car long but I have used it a lot with the top down and as yet I haven’t really felt it needed a wind deflector. However, I bought a Just Roadsters tinted one from Amazon anyway and tried it today.
Very surprised! It seems to cause the air to be drawn in to the cabin more, causing a drought, especially on my left leg, and the heater doesn’t feel as effective as the warm air is being blown way.
It’s exactly the opposite to what I expected!!!

I’ve removed it for now and it might be getting sent back.

Has anyone else found the same thing?

I think the whole success of the wind-breaks is the fact that they are mesh and allow a reduced airflow.
Solid ones cause a completely different effect (I'm assuming the one you bought is solid if tinted?)

Yep looks very nice but I don’t like the feel of it.
I’ve always had them in my MX5s. Either a tall mesh one or the shorter solid plastic OEM one and they have always been very effective.

The standard Mesh wind deflector works well. The only slight issue with it, is rear visibility in the dark. :)

As per my previous posts I spent this afternoon fitting a genuine BMW wind deflector to my 23i. What a difference it has made, I am quite tall so still ruffles the wig a bit but the cabin is much warmer with heater on and roof down. About an hour in total from start to finish as first hoop cover played hardball.
Bought the deflector on e bay from a seller going by the name of OEM, maybe I was lucky but it was absolutely complete and unmarked.
Thumbs and finger tips are a bit sore though from springing the roll hoop covers off.
Next job are gloss black kidney grilles - just need to work out how to get the old ones out.

Hi, open bonnet & remove the panel over the radiator and this gives clearance to get your hand down to the grills to pop the clips
