Wind deflector price

About the only thing missing from our new E89 is a wind deflector - we've previously had two E85: one with a deflector and one without so we know that its worth having. And we definitely want the OEM one.

From what I've seen it doesn't look like too difficult a job to fit so I'm happy to do it myself: I can pick up the deflector & fitting kit for £255 on ebay, plus replacement roll bar covers for £40 - do these sound like reasonable prices?

Mine E89 was without wind deflector when I bought it. I found parts from Ebay and rollbar covers were close of £40. If I remember right deflector & fittings were closer £150 then £225.

Install was easy. Took about 10-15min/side.

On a new car the wind deflector is £215. I'd ask in a dealership what they could do on a new deflector given the prices you have found.

Our local dealership (Baron's) don't seem do parts - they send you to their service centre who want around £450 to supply & fit (and were very resistant to just supplying the parts). I don't have the bit of paper to hand right now, but I think the labour component was £72 (inc VAT) so the deflector parts would be around £375 :-o

There doesn't seem to be much around right now on ebay - I can pick up a deflector kit for £140 inc p&p but that one doesn't include the mesh inserts for the roll bar hoops. If I want those (which I do!) then the only thing I can find is the kit at £255 (its no cheaper to buy the inserts separately).

When we purchased our AUC from BMW it came with the wind deflector, although we don't use the center piece as it restricted the rear view a little too much.
