Wind Deflector- Make Sense?

Before I spend $100+ on a rear wind deflector for my 2003 Z4, are they really worth the expense? Do they really deter wind turbulence to any great amount? Any comments would be appreciated.

We always have the wind deflector in place on our E85, last summer on a very hot day my wife asked me to remove it. Driving along the A38 she changed her mind, too much buffering and noise. What I don’t understand is my MGs didn’t have them but it was fine. Younger I guess.

Wind can be a problem when you get older, so I hear. :poke::)

Hard yes. One of the best things to spend money on to enjoy long runs with the roof down I’d say.

Both of mine came with the deflector and I got annoyed leaving it in with the roof up and ended up driving round without it in for a few days on the first zed. It now lives in place permanently, need it in when the roof is off and the roof is off if its not torrential rain.

Op assuming you’re going for the retro fit bmw item? This has insets in the headrests and a clip in mesh section for between the seats. Also brackets available to hold it in the boot (trunk) lid.
Mixed results with slabs or perpex I understand, or there’s the gimp mask version that just goes over the roll hoops.

I am planning to buy a glass version that slides-in between the roll bars. There seems to be a lot of them out there. If you have a specific type of wind deflector that you would recommend, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
