Wind deflector kit and installation

Morning forum, please be gentle with me, it's my first post.

I recently bought a Z4 (2.0 SDrive Msport, 62 plate 25k miles).

And I love it!

Only thing is, compared to my old 3Series convertible, it does suffer from turbulence with the roof down and no Deflector, so I acquired one from e-bay.

But I need some help fitting it!

Does anybody have experience doing this?

I see you can buy the mounting kits on e-bay for £45, but do they have fool proof instructions?

Any help or feedback would be very helpful.

Thank you, John.

Hi. I retrofitted fitted my wind deflector a couple of years ago and am in Northampton by J15 if you need any advice/support. You will need the deflector and the fitting kit- which is basically the two plastic vertical runners that are screwed into the silver part of the roll hoop. If you want you can also buy the inner mesh inserts to finish the job properly. You can also buy the pre-drilled silver parts of the roll over hoop but this is unnecessary expense in my view. I drilled my own holes (after measuring and re-measuring about ten times!). I think there is some advice on how to do the retrofit on an American Z forum - I'll try to find it for you. From memory the fitting kit didn't come with particularly clear instructions but it's not rocket science - just needs a bit of patience and steel-reinforced finger tips!

Hi. The weblink I used a few years ago can be found here:

Hope this helps. If you do want some help fitting I'm happy to assist.

Best wishes
