whats the best one to get. or the cheapest, cant find any at the moment :)

also has anyone put a panel airfilter in their z4 mines a 2.2ise so would wonder if its worth it ?

martin :P

eh? did i say sumtin wrong??

can any 1 help with sites or prices of a wind deflector-blocker or whatever their called?? ALSO is it possible to put a panel airfilter in the original airbox!! :)

No just the insanity of one board member sorry

BTW - I have an OEM windblocker. The type that clips into the roll bar hoops, then locates in the boot lid when not in use (not the cheap one that straps onto the hoops). I love mine when the hoods down, but it does reduce rear view clarity when the hoods up.

Some swear by the plexiglass version but I've no experience of them.

Search the site as there are some previous threads on them

In response to your first post, I like the RoadsterSolutions model, but it is a bit pricey.

I picked this one up for $125.00

And mounted on my car.

It is supposed to go on the other side of the bars, but I was trying out different mount points when I took this pic.

As you can see, if you mount it behind the bars, the gap in the middle is not there.

It does NOT rub on the top.
If you put the WindBlocker behind the roll bars it really does reduce the wind in the cockpit. If you keep it where I have it in the pics, it reduces the wind but there is a nice down draft down the center of the cockpit where your arms are. Nice on a warm day...

The reason I took it off it that the BOSS (wife) did not like it. She wants a different model. She and I don't like the straps.

Comes with Plexiglass blocker, straps, cleaning cloth and carrying bag.
So, like I said, it's yours for $50.00 plus shipping.

You have first choice. After that, it's open season to the first one who wants it.

Should we move this to the 'Buy and Sell' area? :!:

Certainly not the cheapest but provides an excellent, transparent appearance. I have one and like it, mostly, for the unobstructed view. The web site has lots of Z4 accessories like the trunk lid handle.

Wow are those windscreens still being sold? There was quite some history how this windscreen came about. The guy who designed/sold/had this windscreen manufactured was here in Seattle. He didn't have a Z4, so he borrowd a Z4 from a local owner in order to design/create that windscreen and later on used her Z4 to take pictures as demo, promising to give her (the Z4 owner) a free windscreen as compensation. Then he started selling the windscreens on ebay and other Z4 forums while claiming the Z4 in the pictures was his own Z4 and never acknowlegding the Z4 owner, and he never gave the girl the free windscreen as he promised. Then she requested him to remove the photos of her Z4 and of course he didn't. He disappeared for a while after that while continuing to sell those windscreens on ebay.

I had the RoadsterSolution windscreen a few years ago and it worked well re-directing wind away from the cabin. The only problem I had was it was constantly making squeeking noises. They sent me a replacement but it didn't help. But then again back then it was Saratoga making and selling (through roadstersolution) that windscreen and the company has sadly gone under. Right now another company is making the windscreens so it's possible they've made some improvements.

to all with the roadster solutions windscreen, how did it mount to the roll bars?

these things can be made for cheap - a sheet of plexiglass that size should cost no more than 20 dollars at your local plastics store. with the right tools and some sanding, it could easily be made yourself...the velcro version especially.

im only hesitating because it is definitely not the most elegant of solutions, once i figure out how the roadster solutions one mounts on i will attempt to make one.. any info guys?

They use industrial strength 3M tape to attach the guides to the roll hoop covers. The tape held up pretty strong in my case and I've yet to hear anyone complaining about the guides falling off.
