Will You Trade In Your Z4 in 2009?

Interesting that the overwhelming set of responses is to 'keep'. Now of course that could be that the sample so far is take from regular Z4 board surfers and is therefore distorted to those who have a special interest in their current car.

Perhaps this points to the new model having to attract a new group of buyers as the Z4 did over the Z3?

Yeah, I think a lot of us will be late adopters, if we make the move at all. It seems to me very much like the new Mini syndrome. A LOT of discussion was had about how the old one was better. Whether it was or not I don't know.

My personal situation is I believe when the new one comes out it will date the old one, but it's (for me anyway) in such a price bracket that the new one won't be an option for a good few years at least.

This is, however, the first car I've had for over a year and a half that I am still happy with, that's got to be a good sign.

Keeping mine, too expensive to change anyway :)

Might be tempted to add a new 911 to the collection though, but not for a while (the last bit, my wife typed :D )

Be keeping mine. I do tend, on the whole, to keep my cars for about 4-5 years. My Z4 isn't leased/on HP as I've paid for it so I don't fancy going into a monthly payment scenario for at least another 3 to 4 years! I may keep it and supercharge it mind! :P

The price of the new Z4 though will put it into another price bracket where there will probably be loads of competition from other manufacturers which could be the Z4's downfall! The reason I bought and like the Z4 is it is a great car and has let me "in" to owning a good looking, top end sports car for family car money!

I hope the new one doesn't do too well to be honest because I will get a great deal on a 7 month old, no mileage car like I did on the one I own now! :D

I have noticed of late though that the Z4 is slowly coming down in price as a second hand car. If I were to buy my car now with the mileage on it that it had when I bought it, it would be about £1,000 less looking at the dealers websites!

Mind you, just looked at my dealers website and they have an '06 silver grey M3 CS with 15,000 miles for £26,850!! Tempting that! :D

hMmmmmm.....

i'm loyal. i like my car. getting the new 2009 zed is out of the question.

PAYMENTS... um no thanx

I have no intention to sell my Z4M. I bought this car with the idea it will be the one I take out on nice weekend when I retire in another 20 years or so.....unless something seriously goes wrong, I plan to have this car a long time.

Not a chance i love my Z4 not had it long would not even trade her in for a newer model as i like the early tailights.

I like my Z4 but I don't see myself upgrading to the new model solely because of price (what is a new one gonna go for anyways???). I'd imagine that we're talking in the $60k range so that'll be out the window for me at least. I like the new model though..

I've had several problems with both my 5er and Z4 so I'll likely be jumping brands altogether. In a perfect world I'd like to have a Mercedes CLS and a Mercedes SL500 but we'll see what happens. As it stands right now it would be a stretch to sell both of my current vehicles and get the CLS and SL. Who knows?...in a couple years maybe.

New car will be based on current 3 series chassis and should therefore be a very well sorted car. Add in a twin turbo 3 litre engine which is very tweakable and it should be a great car. But the downside would be the cost £37K - £40K for a fully loaded example??

At present I can't see me parting with the Z4 M roadster I have. It is such a great car to drive, it puts a smile on my face every time. It looks good, is well equipped, goes very fast and holds the road soooo well :D It's been said before, if you want another roadster what do you replace a car like that with unless you have lots and lots of money ?

not sure yet. i usually get rid of my cars as soon as the new car smell wears out but i'm really getting attached to this one (3 mos old)

Mines a keeper, although I would change for a Z4MR to keep forever.

You would have to keep yours with that massive hole in the dash :P

Might be test driving the M3 CS this afternoon! :) Don't really think it will tempt me out of my Z4 though, but be nice to see how it drives!
