Will you keep yours at the end of your PCP Deal?

Pistonheads have a tee shirt which seems to explain it in an appropriate manner. It's called man maths! :D

Well we've had a PCP, bought new, bought old and bought very nearly new most recently with the Z4 (it had 2.5k on the clock). Value wise taking in to account condition and remainder of warranty the very nearly new feels the best method for getting wheels.

That what I did - Stick your own plate on it and who would know?
You still have take a 50% loss over a three year period.

I have been following this thread and if people like my self and others did not buy new cars then there would be no used ones for other people to buy
I have a pcp but when I take business mileage into consideration the car costs me nothing apart from petrol tax and insurance
The last z4 I had I had on contact hire at the end of the contract i bought it of bmw for 10.5k kept it for a further 2 years then sold it for £9995
Also i have a private plate on it was on from new as people do not need to know I have a brand new car

Mine looks like being a zero cost over 2 years, car allowance and ppm payment are reasonable from my employer and as long as I can drag my ass to meetings he doesn't care what I drive...he suggested a Porsche, pcp was MASSIVE on that so I politely declined!

Been reading through this thread with great interest as I'm just in the process of sorting out how to pay for my Z4.

I've already paid a deposit with the dealer to hold the (AUC) car. BMW are offering a 48 month PCP deal where I'd be limited on mileage and still have the balloon payment if I want to keep the car at the end.

I'm being offered a Santander deal over 60 months where the payments are only £13 more than the BMW deal per month. Obviously a longer term but no mileage limit & no final balloon either. Also having added up the total cost of the two deals including the final payment on the BMW deal, I'd actually pay slightly less in total on the Santander deal.

Seems obvious to choose the Santander deal to me; unless there's something I'm missing??

JohnDonovan, the PCP interest rates on used cars are usually much higher than new cars (double I would have thought). This thread was really aimed at those who bought last March on cracking deals.

What is the BMW interest rate on the PCP? If it's above 10% then I could see the Santander offering being much better, ad you suggest.

The other bonus of the Santander route is if you need to bail out at any time as long as the car is worth what is outstanding on the loan then you can sell , settle & walk away

As wondermike says pcp best on new cars with a low rate offer. On used you are better with a personal loan.

The quote we got from BMW on auc was much higher than new, on a lower spec car.

Typical figures would be 5.9% apr on new and 8.8% apr on used.
