Looking into buying some 19's to replace the original 18's that cam on my MCoupe.

I have read somewhere that the original offset for stock wheels are:

Fronts - 18 8.5j et 42
Rears -18 9.5j et35

The wheels i might be buying are

Fronts - 19 8.5j et40
Rears - 19 9.5j et40
tyres are 235 35 19 all round

I can see that i would need at least a 5mm spacer for the rears to bring them out to the factory position and offset, but would probably buy 10mm spacers just to make it look a bit fatter on the rear, and then get the factory recommended tyre widths for the rears (265 30 19).

So just wanting to know if there would be any rubbing issues if i were to splash the cash and buy them. car has not been lowered and sitts on the standard M suspension

Have you tried putting your figures into one of these sites? Won't help with the rubbing issue per se but will let you see how the weheels will sit.

hmmm, well using the above offsets it looks like the fronts will have 4mm less at the strut housing but gaining 8mm on the outer position. and the rears will have 16mm less at the strut housing and retract the outer position by 4mm. So if i were to install 10mm spacers is should see a gain of 6mm at the outer edge and just 6mm less space between the wheel and strut housing on the rears. oh i dont know what to do :(

For reference OEM CSL offsets are:

Fronts ET44, Rears ET27 IIRC.

those are 19x8.5 and 19x9.5.

I have run mine with 12mm hub-centric spacers on the front and at the time had eibach springs on with no rubbing issues at all and felt great.
