Will they fit.....

I have a set of M5 parallel alloys.
Et 15 8.5j all round.
Was going to put winter tyres on them as standard width. so 225/40/18 and 255/35/18.
I think they will be fine on the back, but does anyone know if I will have issues with the fronts?

Cheers

There's a website that tells you... think it's called willitfit.com

I think you might have problems with the front, offset it quite low

Are they the original e34 M5 M-Parallels, or the e39 copies? Although by the offset I'd say they're e39.

If the latter, then the centre bore is larger, so you'll need a hub-centric adapter to stop them wobbling.

I assume the 1/2"-1" negative offset reduction will push the wheel out by that amount, and the rear will be very close to (if not touching) the arch. Is there any reason for the non-M tyre sizes, or is it just down to price? If so, you can run 225/40r18 on all 4 (that's what the BMW winter wheel option does).

Yeah they are the e39 versions, so knew about the centre bore, but was happy to use a spigot ring.

And yeah all down to cost, have found what would be a bargain if they fit.

ET15 and 8.5J will stick out like crazy. Stock 108's on a 8.5 are around the ET45 mark.

Edit just realised this in on an M... but still the the offset for the fronts are the same as non M, at around ET 40, rears prob wont be as much of a problem

Yeah on the M thought the standards were et 37. So 22mm wider for the lower et and then another 6-7 mm wider for the fact they are actually a wider wheel.

Guess that does push them out too much. Too bad will have to give the wheels a miss then.
