Will these wheels fit?

Hi

I want to get a set of these rims for my Z4 2.5i Sport:

m4-335-front.jpg

The default setup is staggered with 19" x 8.5" ET35 on the front and 19" x 9.5" ET35 on the rear.

According to the wheel offset calculator the clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 20mm LESS and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 44mm.

Does anyone know if these are likely to fit?

And if not, why they won't?

I've heard that are too aggressive (I'm assuming that means they will stick out under the arch)

I've been told that a 19" x 9.5" ET45 would be fine but when i put that in the wheel calculator the strut housing clearance would be 30mm LESS! (although the outside edge is 10mm less)

They do a non-staggered fitment, would anyone advise me to get these? I really like the wheel design, think it'll look wicked on a Z4!

Thanks for your time guys :D

Welsh.

It's the fronts you need to worry about. If your Z4 has either the stock sport suspension or is lowered, the tires will rub the plastic liners behind the front bumper when you drive somewhat aggressively.

Take it from me, GP20 is the resident expert, and I do mean expert, on rims and tires.

Thanks for your help guys.

I've decided not to go for these wheels until they come up with a better fitment for my car (which is probably never).

I'm looking at some DPE wheels now instead, trouble is they are mega bucks!

All the wheels I seem to like are either well expensive or just don't fit, seems I have the midas touch when it comes to wheels!

The only OZ's I like seem to be the most expensive (Raffaello 's).

Cheers again tho guys, I'll get there in the end :D

I'll take that as a compliment. :D Gotta give credit to GV from Belgium and a few others on the Z4um (RIP :( ) who are no longer posting on Z4 forums; I learned most of my stuff from them and also from you too. Of course, I also learned a few things the hard way (with my wallet) after 8 sets of aftermarket wheels in 3 years; had to eat a lot of can food and collect soda cans and bottles on the weekends just to get by  .

those look similar (but more spokes) to the M6 rims. I know those are available as replicas in 18s and 19s. You might want to check those out. They''ll be my next purchase when I need new tires.

on the topic of will these wheels fit... will the OEM ZCP wheels fit a 2003 3.0l with sport package?

searches revealed the following details about the ZCP wheels
Front: 19x8 +47
Rear: 19x9.5 +27

my current wheels are the 108
Front: 18x8 +47 (225/40/18)
Rear: 18x8.5 +50 (255/35/18)

using some online tire calculators and assuming that the tires on the ZCP will be 235/35/19 and 265/30/19, I get the following results:

Front changes:
Ride Height: +0.195 inch
Tire Width: +0.39 inch
Wheel inboard: N/C
Wheel outboard: N/C
Tire with wheel inboard: +0.195 inch
Tire with wheel outboard: +0.195 inch
Speedometer error: 2%

Rear changes:
Ridge Height: +0.115 inch
Tire Width: +0.39 inch
Wheel inboard: -0.405 inch
Wheel outboard: 1.405 inch
Tire with wheel inboard: -0.71 inch
Tire with wheel outboard: 1.1 inch
Speedometer error: 1%

So would these with my guess of tire size fit? Are there better choices for tire size? Does it matter if the front and rear "speedo error" is different?

Thanks in advance.

The tires are aright. 235/35/19 & 265/30/19 is a pretty common set-up. The rear wheels offsets are too aggressive for the regular Z4. Technically, the rears would fit, but will look pretty ghetto when the wheels stick out way past the fenders, and especially won't look good sitting on stock suspensions with the rims being 19" and, again, with the wheels sticking out past the fenders. But once you lower the suspensions, you'll then likely run into problem with fender rubs. Unless you're planning to swap out the entire rear axles with the E46 M3's or Z4M's, stick with wheels with less aggressive offsets.

so what is the good sizes for the z4? If i just stay with a 19x8 is that good? What about the offset? 35,38,??? I am looking at 2 sets one is 18x8.5/35's and one is 19x8/38 will they fit? (sorry to hijack the thread =))
