Hmmmm...I did think 255 was a touch wide but then you and Gaz had them on your cars which were reps I know so I’m guessing those were less wide than 255...?

I have those wheels fitted but my rear tyres are 275/30r19 so can't comment about the back. The fronts are 255/35r19 though and they rub very slightly when reversing at full lock.
It will depend on what tyres you run. I have Michelin Sport 4S which are known to be larger than other tyres at the same profile. When the fronts need replacing I will go to 245/35r19.
There's no problem with weight as the genuine 437m wheels are forged so weigh less than the standard setup, all Z4 wheels are cast so weigh a ton versus a proper forged set.

Huge tyres on the front will pull your steering around with every bump and may result in early suspension/joint/rack failures, as well as ruin the enjoyment of the car..

More seriously though, pretty much every high performance car out there has wider tyres than our car including the new Z4 M40i.
