Will these wheels fit my car?

Hi

I have just joined today so am not too familiar with how things work. I posted my query in the Newbies forum but think it might be more appropriate here. I have a 2005 2.2SE and have been offered some 18 inch wheels from a 2016 320d. The tyre size is 225/45/18. Does anyone know whether these wheels will fit my car?

Any advice guidance would be much appreciated.

Ideally need to know the wheel style to get the exact numbers but id guess they will fit your car to perfection if 8j widths & around et35-et40 which they should be
Welcome to the forum

Unless someone on here just happens to know the specs for a 320d wheel you will need to let people know what the widths of the wheels (not the tyres) and their offsets before anyone will be able to give you an answer.
(Not me you understand  I have no idea - but someone else will be able to :) )
Rich.

Hi Again

Just checked. Fronts are 8J and rears are 8.5J. When I have looked at various isites they suggest a profile of 40 for tyres on 18inch rims for a Z4 and these are 45. Having little knowledge of these things I am totally confused.

Hi

Thanks for your help. The part number for these wheels is 6796247. They are 8J at the front and 8.5 at the rear.

Kind Regards

And the offset (ET value). That's the most important one

If it's from a 2016 3 series than it is a F30/F31 and the (correct) offset for that car is 34. With the right tyre size for the Z4 (225/40/18 front that is pushing the limits, but it WILL work. I have 235/40/18 with an offset of 35 and that rubs very slightly

OP has 2.2Se which should swallow a front 8j et34 18inch wheel no problem even if 225 45 tyre on :?
Maybe start being a issue if 8.5J on a dropped E86 Sport or E85 Sport ?

Hi

I understand the correct offset for a Z4 is between 45 and 47 . Although I have to admit I'm not sure what it really means. As you state the aspect ratio for 18 inch tyres is 40 on a Z4, not as these are 45. What I don't want to do in my ignorance, is fit wheels which are potentially dangerous.

They won't be dangerous mate , they would actually be a improvement in all areas from OEM numbers & worth noting the E85 Z4M runs a 225 45 18 front tyre as stock (8j ) with a 255 40 18 rear (9j )

Hi

I really appreciate the valuable help I have received from you guys tonight. Hopefully the wheels are still available. I'll let you know if I manage to get them.

Kind Regards

Good Evening Mr Wilkes

Thank you for your help yesterday. Sadly I missed the wheels. Never mind, I'll carry on searching. Having read a lot of the posts on this site today I keep seeing your name being mentioned as someone who has an exstensive knowledge of wheels for Z4s. I am looking to replace the existing 16 inch wheels with something which improves the look of the car. I need new tyres so it seems a good time to make some changes. Any suggestions regarding the best looking wheels and best size as well good suppliers would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
