The seller is saying no but they are genuine M 224 alloys. He says they will only fit e89 models and neither e85 or 86 early Zs. Am i missing something or getting confused or should they just fit!!!!!!!

Seller doesn't know what he is talking about. Bit like a set of 1 series alloys a bought listed as fitting an X5

Just looked them again. Looks like a square set listed all at 9"

TBH they are being sold by BMAutosport just down the road from me. Mark has a good reputation and many on here have bought from him.

I just looked at the pics first time  .

Just checked my bare 224's rear measure 10" and fronts 9" but http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ has them as 8" and 9" so looks like a full set of rears.

Would need to check further regarding fitment.

I'm sure 224's are 9 rears and 8 fronts?

Genuine measurements don't often reflect what things are listed as, as it's not always the widest point that's measured... Ever tried measuring an 18' rim?

I'm sure they are four rears. Mark knows what he is on about. The op just needs to see if they will fit.

Sorry I wasn't being pedantic...

I don't think you'd have a hope in hell in fitting a rear on the front though!! I could check at some point but it's a bit of a pain, y'know?

I imagine I'd ever scrub, BADLY, or stick out an awfully long way!

Sorry Rob, want having a dig at you. If they fit e90 though you would think they would fit E85 :?

I'd be VERY surprised if a 9 inch rim fits the front of an e85... I'm willing to be proved wrong, but it would shock me. I know the guys at BM autosport really know their stuff so I'm confused. Especially given how far the 224's stick out on a non //M on the rear.

Other thing to consider, is that the design is actually slightly different as standard between front and back, deeper bolt holes etc, so I personally like having slimmer fronts, not to mention the more nimble steering feel and finally the bloody tyre prices!

He has got back to me and said exactly what you guys have said. Both rears 9 inch all round instead of 8 front and 9 rears. Oh well my search goes on.

Cheers people

quite a few people run 9j fronts on a e85 thou, marius was one of them, there are also others

Then I, am very surprised ;)

It's just when you see the clearance on an 8, another inch doesn't seem possible without the wheel sticking out of the arch.
