Hello all,

Swapping my 108's but struggling to find good MV2's so I've come up with these 18" wheels from Germany

Item number eBay 161790859976 - sorry I can't remember how to use photo bucket drrrrr :headbang:

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=161790859976&globalID=EBAY-GB

8.5 x 18 ET42 with standard tyres off my 108's. Been offered darkish silver as per the ad or hyper silver.

Personally I think they look great, clearly not OEM but in my eyes better than 108's.

Mr Wilks will you educate me, open to similar design from UK. These are said to be made in Germany thus should be good quality like my Z4 (and not like my new C220 AMG estate which was built on a Friday afternoon using cardboard, poor plastic and rubbish paint!)

Many thanks

Nice looking wheel & not far from a OEM look , a MV2 meets M3 style ?
The widths & offsets offered at 8.5j et 42 will sit fine on your car although for that money i would ask for the lower offset on 2 of them (for the rear)
Tyres on the front would be better at 235 but you could use your existing 225s until they need replacing
The seller has great feedback from a lot of sales so i wouldn't worry too much on quality , they must be doing something right

Mr W thanks for your quick reply as always!

So I should ask for 8.5 x 18 ET42 for the fronts and 8.5 x 18 ET35 for the rears. £582 delivered from Germany so not too bad and, as you say, a good look similar to MV2 / M3 67M's.

Not sure whether to go darker silver or bright silver on our dark paintwork???

Thanks again.

Lost a few months with issues on the home front but back now, on new (used) wheels for the Z.

Decided to keep to OEM - looking to go 18" 67M from the M3. Is there any shots of these on the forum, preferably on an E85 Convertible. Rear offset a slight worry but should fit from what I can gather. A couple of sets on eBay at the minute incl our friends at Eastbourne

Thanks

What are you looking for? i.e. condition, with/without tyres? I know someone that is going to sell some genuine mv2s. I can find out the details for you but suspect they might need a returb and tyres.

I think a few on here have fitted the 19" 67M's, with the wider rim you will have an equivalent offset of ET32 so they will sit about 18mm further in, you could fit 15 or 20mm spacers to the rear?

Wrong way around i think :?
ET32 on a Si Z4 would work ok as with style 224s (although style 67s have et 26 9j rears )
9j Et 32 would actually appear as if 18mm spaced from original 108s
Adding a 15/20 mm spacer would not be necessary & would stick well out of the arch

Machine monkey does have them on his car but i think he had to "machine" the rear hub face off ?

Thanks for replies.

RAJ, I would consider MV2's without tyres but my car is mint and relatively low miles so I would prefer a perfect set. Saying that I could get them dipped and powdered.

I do like the 18" 67M, this is by far my favoured wheel but the tears are ET26 18 x 9" as Mr Wilks states. That's 24mm further out than my standard (mint) 108's so I'm worried about the fit. Could get the hubs machined as per Machine Monkey .......

Thanks for the photo above, I do like these wheels.

Might be worth pm'ing jamiez4, he has a set of freshly refurbished mv2s that he was considering swapping for 108's, although he may well have changed his mind now :D

Nope you're right, fitting a lower offset than the original will bring the wheel further out, my apologies to the OP for giving you incorrect information, thank you Mr Wilks for correcting. I believe monkey did machine his down, though his 19" 67M's are 9.5-ET27 and the 18" are 9-ET26 so will stick slightly less out than monkey. However you have 24 mm difference between original and new offsets plus half the increase in rim width to add to so approximately 30mm further out, that is a lot.

Bing fitted some big rear spacers to his 3.0si, but I don't think it was that much, send him a pm

Mr Tourete

Thanks for info - I have committed my 108's to another member so all good on that front thanks.....

All,

I've finally found an aftermarket wheel I like, at long last; BBS CK alloys 18 x 8 with ET45 and 18 x 8.5 with ET34, a couple of website state these fit Z4 E85 so all good. Wheelbase Alloys and Rimstyle.

Good quality wheel BBS in keeping with quality of the Z4. Discounted to £720 so reasonable price, especially for BBS............

Comments welcome. :D

Thanks Mr W

Price is £749 for the staggered set, apologies. Still reasonable for quality wheel.

I did try genuine 18" M3 staggered set last weekend, very helpful and nice bloke in S Manchester. Wheels looked great but 9J / ET26 rears looked errrrrrrrrrr wide, I mean WIDE. Looked FAB from the side and daft from the rear.

Thus on the BBS CK wheels

Will order tomorrow and post photo when they land, assuming it stops raining!!!
