will the 3.0 z4 6 speed gearbox fit the m3 engine?

I maybe thinking about fitting the e46 m3 engine to my z4 3.0 please can anyone tell me if the 6 speed 3.0 z4 box will fit the m engine and if its man enough for the job! as i know the e46 m3 6 speed box wont fit the z4 any help or advice would be apprecaited.

the M54 Gearbox from the Z4 will fit the S54 from M3 and Z4M as the bell housing bolt pattern is the same. you will need the clutch, flywheel propshaft, input shaft & gear selector from the donor car too, be mindful of that; I'd recommend the geabox from an M3 though.
The N52 Gearbox wont fit any of the M or S series engines.

Why not just buy a Z4 ///M and be done with it, much easier and will be easier to sell on.

Hi thankyou for the reply i have got the whole engine and gearbox but the gearbox is an smg one hence wanting to use my gearbox so i guess the flywheel on the engine would be fine i would fit a new clutch what else would i need i guess the m3 prop and rear axle would be different.

z4spurs, the rear end is different - diff, drive shafts, etc. What about wiring, loom etc?
