will M steering wheel fit if I have paddle shifters?

Quick question for you gurus -- can I do the M multifunction wheel upgrade on an automatic z4 that has the paddle shifters? I read somewhere on this board that the paddle shifters are a complication, and could mean the fat M wheel won't fit. I haven't found any specific installation instructions that address this detail.

FWIW, here in HK -- where I am on an assignment -- I have a 2006 Z4 coupe with an automatic, paddle shifters, and a plastic-feeling steering wheel with no multifunction buttons. I have a 2007 M Coupe waiting for me in the US. I just bought the Z4 Coupe here in HK a few days ago, and the first thing I want to upgrade is the steering wheel, which I miss from my M Coupe!

Thanks for any info you can share on fitting the M wheel around the paddle shifters!

I have a 2006 Z4 coupe automatic with paddle shifters and a multifunction steering wheel. No idea if thats an 'M' one or not (probably not). Its leather on the wheel (feels quite fat and squashy, not hard plastic). I'll see if I can get a picture

You have the same wheels as a ///M but without the tri colour stitching.

I would guess a true ///M wheel would not support paddke shifters as an auto was never an option on the ///M.

You need the part number for the M PSort wheel witch paddles shifters, have a look on realoem.com

so how come the OP doesn't? are the specs different for each country? I thought there was only one spec for a non-M coupe?

I'm guessing tho OP has an SE not a Sport spec.

here in HK they are all just called Z4 Coupe 3.0SIA. Maybe they were sold with or without sport packages. Would there be any way to tell if it is an SE or something else? Thanks!

There are only two styles of wheel (with different varieties to each) so it'll be thin or chunky. Does yours look like this?

The paddles have the same part number, so they must be the same. The wheel part number are all here.
