Will go Drag racing on Sunday. Any tips?

Hi guys,

I will try My Z on the strip this weekend. Unfortunately I am in the same catagory with the e36 and e46 m3s. However the strip is only 300 meters long, so might stand a chance.
Any advises? What is the best lounch rpm?

My Z is a 2003 3.0i manual.

I find launching with the sport button ON (if you have it) around 2,500-3,000 makes a good launch. :) Depends how balanced you are with the clutch and throttle.
Look after that clutch!! :wink:
 
DSC/DTC off, 3000rpm on a rising blip to WOT and lift the clutch smoothly and then moderate throttle to stay pointing straight

I managed 5.77s with the above to 60mph (no rollout)
 
IMO the Zed is incredibly easy to lauch quickly off the line :D

Maybe look into running slightly different tyre pressures.
 
If you want easy then try a mk1 mr2. 5k rpm and dump that clutch, will beat most things off the line then sadly they go past :(

Anyone know the 1/4 miles times for the 2.0,2.5 and 3.0 Z4's? I'm sure my 2.0l is quicker then my mk1 but it doesnt feel it.
