Nothing wrong with dreams, even if they turn out to be very expensive...

A Ferrari is my bucket list car. I looked at a 360 but was warned off by my ex boss who owned two from new that were nightmares. I hanker after a 430 but have a friend with one and watch him unable to take it anywhere and leave it for fear of malicious vandalism, ridiculous servicing schedule and costs and a horrendous record of faults. He has a 2yr Ferrari warranty and what it has saved him so far would have paid for IMmie. :o

Keep the faith, Ferrari 458 for me depending on the lotto results tonight..............

To the OP - I have the same engine in the X5, even with the service pack I decided to pay for the running in service as I did not feel comfortable to leave the oil in the car from day 1 until 15k miles.

Amen

Nice indeed

mr wilks, being new and probably having 5 years servicing included it should be a painless experience. My 740i was the cheapest car I ever had for servicing and repairs (depreciation another matter of course).

Well i didn,t experience any depreciation as i managed £600 more for it when it went but that only went part way to offset the list of mechanical failings i had to put right
Car had 60k, 1 owner FBMWSH ,bought at 7 yrs old
In my ownership i had repaired / replaced
Weeping cam cover gaskets (not bad but i can,t live with oil drops on any car ) gaskets alone were £175 for the 2 from BMW :o £550 ish
Alternator + battery £300 ish
Autobox housing (cheap plastic that split ) £250 ish
Cooling fan £450 ish
Still one of my favoured motor moments though with unforgettable V8 that always thrilled me , , , the 15mpg in town not so much :|
Would love another but this time the facelift,s from 2007 which were made much better i,m told

I won't be buying one. Was discussing the next move with daughter. Youngest finishes school next year and elder daughters expensive London sojourn is over in a few months. I have an expensive extended vacation at the end of the year (2 months paid, yay!) and then I shall take stock.

I think a Ferrari is a pipe dream, they seem to be built to be put in garages and stared at, and running one would ruin me even if I can afford to buy a half decent used one. Aston looks like a possibility, but a few years away as I'm allergic to debt and so I'll have to save up. Man maths is telling me school fees and London rent will soon add up :D

I know the feeling when the 'kids' education plan evolves into grad school in New York City and Law School.
Lucky I have always had an affinity to well worn blue jeans.

New M6's can be had for £70k (30% off list), a lot of car for &70k when you think the M4 will be getting on for £60k list (although big discounts will be available on that too).

Lovely looking car OP

+1 my uncle has a 355 although nothing has gone wrong the last service was 5k

Gorgeous Car OP we went to have a go in an M6 recently and what a wonderful package the 6 series is!

Did you go for extended leather with contrast stitching? looks amazing!

Wow, looks great

I got the same wheels on my 5 series touring

Do you have any pictures of that? I've got a F11 M Sport too, but the optional 19" rims (style 351) and don't like them. Been looking into alternative OEM rims from the 6 series or M5 winter wheels.

Lovely motor. I keep thinking of combining my Z4M and F11 5 series for a 640d Gran Coupe.

Would love to hear what you think in 1000 miles time and how the fuel consumption is working out.

Just caught up with this. Stunning! Colour suits it even if I'm not a huge fan of it not being on a ///M car but it suits the 6 and you possibly won't see many in that colour. I've seen a few in white, black and 1 Deep Sea Blue but that's it.

She is a very lucky lady
