We are having our shower room updated, part of the update is a new electric shower.Looking around on the web,Wickes have a 9.5 Triton shower reduced from £420 down to £210.
Looking down the spec on the Wickes web page it states it has a 12 yr parts and labour warranty ,which is fantastic.Lower down the page it now mentions a 2 yr warranty
,just to be certain I give Wickes sales a call asking for clarification .The sales person checks the web page and agrees it's confusing ,she then checks with another member who confirms its a 12yr warranty .The explanation being some one forgot to place the 1 in front of the 2 were it stated 2 yr warranty.
Happy now it's all explained I go off to our local Wickes to purchase one.None in stock,so has to be ordered. The sales person has never heard of a 12 yr warranty on a shower and it would be best to get it in writing.
Contacted Wickes sales this morning to get the 12 yr warranty in writing only to be told it's a 2yr warranty,I explain the conversation which took place with her dept yesterday .The lady I spoke to said she would investigate what had gone on.
The result of the investigation was the sales person I spoke to yesterday had got it wrong, and the webpage stating 12yrs was an error. She had been given permission to offer £25 as a consultation if I carried on with the purchase.
I don't think the shower was sold for £420 ,as when I have now checked Triton have similar models around the £200 mark.
