Why?

I've got a silver Sport Coupe which I've had for about 6 months. I love the look of the car, but I keep getting an urge to change it and I'm not sure why. Everytime I see it I realise I'd probably be stupid to do so, i just can't get rid of the thought of changing it.

I had a CLK before, which I only kept a month before the urge became to great!

Why is this happening?

I hardly drive it as I catch the bus to work everyday, perhaps that's it?

I'm just not sure what to do. I keep thinking back to the Merc, Cooper S and 1 series I had before with fond memories. I can't have liked them that much otherwise I'd still own them :)

Clear your weekend, pray for some sun, Dig out the ray Ban's, plan a route and go for a blast!!! You'll be asking admin to delete this post on monday as a result! :)

I'm no psychologist, but I believe there is a prevelant condition that makes us all want to continulaly strive to change, improve, buy bigger, better, latest. Driven by society, peer pressure, advertising, consumerism, etc. etc.

Why else would we get a new mobile phone every 12 months, etc.

At some point we are supposed to accept what we have is what we need. I'm sure someone will have a better explanation than that.

I agree with that.

I worship my motor but on numerous times over the last 2 years, I've thought about changing.

Then I get in it and laugh at my error of thought!

Now its my goal to keep for at least another 9 months - then its the longest I've ever had a car!

I tend to take time chosing a car and then stick with it for 4-6 years - unless something major goes wrong or I lose I leg or something :P

Not meaning to pry on your finances, or knowing your circumstance.

My current Z4(53plate 2.5) is my favourite car i have owned in years, Last 3 cars, 997 Carrea, 2 x E46 M3's( 1 coupe, 1 AC Cab) all as new and having less than 10k on clock,

So whys the Z4 my favourite? First car i have ever gone out and brought cash outrite and feels more part of me??? :?

I bought it on finance as I was little unsure about spending that much on a car back in September when the rumours of a recession were starting.

I’m 25 and feel that perhaps I’m a little young to have a car like this, which is part of the problem and before anybody asks, I have my own house :) In a way I’m ashamed to tell people I have it which is daft!

I just want to own it and not keep thinking about changing it every other week. It’s a real battle. I know if I sold it, I’d be

a) A fool :?
b) Sad everytime if I saw another one
c) Thinking the same about the next car 6 months down the line

Do some subtle changes/modifications and make it feel more like your car and try and drive it more :D

I've changed cars a few times in the last 6-7 years but this one I feel like keeping longest :D

You should change it asap. :!:
I'm a nice chap so I'll help you out by letting you swap your coupe for my roadster free of charge  :D :poke:

I think thats very true. Although with cars I think there is a difference between 'need' and 'desire'. You can get bored and fancy a change, experiencing something else...not necessarily 'bigger and better', just 'different. I have also been desperately trying to find 'the next' car but everything that 'compares' to the Z4MC is three times the price - are you really going to be getting three times the car? Tricky!

Snap

so afraid i cannot help you on this problem even if i had the funds to buy something even better i would still want to hang on to this car its just so good looking and fun to drive.

I know cj10 nailed my issue. There's only 2 realistic sports cars I'm even interested in, and I have one of them. Bought it less than a year ago and enjoy it very much. But guess what I've been pricing out for the last 3 weeks?
