Why people enjoy firearms

That brought back memories of Dell boy in Only Fools & Horses when he went to he country for a double barrelled shotgun shoot... only to get out a 'borrowed' pump action shotgun.

Never heard it descibed as "shotgunning" before - must be similar to 'rifleing' and 'pistolling'! No probs. with this new sport, target or clay shooting - better than breeding birds to kill for fun!
Scorp.

Good fun, but I would like to use some of my brothers weapons.

What's not to like about guns? They're dangerous and make load noises and break things...

That being said, I'm glad they're not that common in the UK

The GF is going to arrange a day at a shooting range which is run by one of her work colleagues when they have an open day, looking forward to it should be great fun :guns:

Sorry rayz4, but your brother needs mental help...
GO TELL HIM, HE`S IN CALGARY
Mental help, he`s lived in Canada for over 25 years, runs his own business, annual turnover 3.5 to 4m $ canadian, employs 20 plus people
(canadians) he would be interested in why you think he needs mental help. Because he likes to shoot as a hobby, in a controlled environment only btw, including me, it`s fun, we enjoy it, nothing more than that.
All his firearms are strictly controlled by local bylaws and the police, trigger locks, cased then cased again. You think he`s gonna flip one day and run wild shooting anyone and everything, get a life buddy.

Clay pigeon shooting is fantastic fun!! , I really enjoying going its quite competive with friends. I think until you try it you cannot undertsand how much fun it is!... am less interested in live prey as I think thats a little pointless as I have no intention to eat it.

Exactly. Less judging, more trying, people. You may find you suddenly have a new hobby. I find going to the range to be relaxing, and having a firearm nearby is reassuring in the middle of the night when something goes bump or for long trips at night.

And for those that think the ladies don't want in on the fun, mention a possible range date to a 20-35 year old you are dating and see what their reaction will be. Maybe it's a US thing, but they all seem to think such would make for a very unique date. Some ranges rent weapons, so you need not bring anything but your wallet.

Seriously, though, try it at least once, if for no other reason, to say you did it.

rayz4, is that Thomson fully auto or semi? Your brother has a nice collection, either way.

I fired a fully auto Mp5 in Las Vegas one time. Fun fun! I was amazed at the rate of climb while only firing 9mm pistol rounds.

Only a semi, full auto not allowed on the range we go to, his winchester replica, now that is a cannon. :)
