Why does my radio cut in when playing songs from my phone

Seems to be gremlin time with my car. This issue is that if I am playing songs through the car audio from my phone the system will default to the radio and the screen/controls freeze for 20 secs or so. Doesn’t seem to be a pattern.

I have the Professional install with the DSP amp and the sat nav screen. The CD player has been removed and an Intravee/Kenwood installed into the CD cables and the phone is a hardwired connection. Used to work fine but recently having this issue. Anyone else experienced this or know where I would start looking? Thought it might have been an issue with the Mode button but can’t see anything visually wrong and gave it a blast of compressed air but no joy.
 
You haven't got the Travel Alert (TA) setting set, have you? This often causes it to switch to the radio or switch station. It's a button on the Business unit, dunno how it works on the Pro.
 
Haha - Yes, that’s the second thing I checked 😁. Not that. Have disconnected and reconnected the battery but that hasn’t helped either. It’s a BMW sat nav disc so it isn’t because of a burnt disc (as I noticed on another forum) and I have had the radio out a couple of times just to make sure all the cables are securely connected. Thinking about looking for firmware updates but not sure if that would be the reason. Might stop the system from freezing though.
