Why does my new hardtop don't fit?

Got my new HT yesterday. It looks like it doesn't fit. The tailgate touches the back window. There also a gap between the HT and the car at the back.

Trunk lid stoppers are needed o prevent the boot opening an touching the hard top.

The overall height of the hardtop can be adjusted where it mounts at each door. Adjust the height so it sits approx 5mm from the main body of the car

It looks almost perfectly fitted. If the hardtop touched the bodywork it would bang and over time damage the cars paintwork.
