why does my car beep if its under 3deg?

Only discovered this, why if you turn the computer to temp does it beep and flash a few times if its under 3 deg?

is it beemers way of saying "its fucking cold today"

p.s. anyone else have the top down today?

my zed only seems to do it once per journey I think. My wife's focus on the other hand seems to remind us every 5 minutes with a loud beep that just makes you panic wondering why the hell it's randomly beeped.

As far as I know it also does it when the temp drops to 3 or below... irritating if the temp fluctuates between 3 and 4, keeps bloody beeping LOL!

From what I can see it will beep again if the temp drops again. At least mine seems to.

Both my X5 and the M only beep once during a trip, it might go from 1 - 5 up and down, but it only warns you the once.

Mine only warns me once, then if it flutuates up and back down again, it just flashes the warning with no beep, maybe its something that can be set to beep everytime.

started mine this afternoon, it beeped straight away flashing at 2.5c - still driving 10 mins later it beeped and flashed again and read 0c

... ok, I might be wrong then, but it definitely beeps midway through the journey, but I had thought it had done it several times over a journey, but I guess it could have been a journey where I stopped for petrol or something?? Will have to pay attention more in future.

Is it true the roof doesn't go down when the temp goes below 3'. I'm looking at a car just now and the roof wouldn't operate because it was 2.5'.

Top down your having a laugh sorry i know i drive a roadster but top down in this weather no way i would be cold and deffo get a lot of abuse

as for the beep mine normaly does it when i first start the car has done a couple of times while travelling on the motorway maybe its the cold wind while driving that sets it off as the sensor is at the front of the car.
