Who's upgraded/changed there CDV valve? clutch delay valve

Excellent

I now have a button for rev matching on down shifts in my car, so I "bought" myself a better driver package as it sounds much better than I can do it :D

Removed mine a couple of winters ago.

gear change was a little tight from first to second but why i did it was that when making a fast get away the shift from first to second was awful. Often didnt go or crunched gears as the clutch just wasnt ready for a fast change as the release fluid flow is restricted by the CDV. After removal drives like a different car with fast starts easy like driving any other car with fast clutch/gear changes - and no issues since.

did it myself so cost = £0  :D
just needed 2 spanners to remove. bled hose with and easybleed and job done.
downside = working under a car on axle stands isnt for everyone and is tight work
total time to do = 1-2 hrs i guess inc jacking up car.

That's cheating, but bet you sound like a driving god when it is turned on!

I just removed the CDV and connected the two ends. Without a doubt, the gearchange is vastly improved. Do it!

Thank you for all the replies and Good to hear a lot of positive comments about removing the CDV. Mines booked in for a gearbox oil change and brake/clutch fluid change so might as well get this CDV removed.

Sorry for hijacking the thread

You did leave it unattended though, and all unattended threads could be destroyed :D

While you are getting this work done get them to have a look at the engine and gearbox mounts at the same time. From the reading up I did if they are badly worn (and things don't quite line up properly) it can affect the gear change. Not sure how true this is but it can't hurt to check while you're under there.
