Well at the moment i have a bit of a warm air induction kit, as it didn't have the OEM airbox, and it feels as though the engine is suffering a bit.

Has anyone gone from an OEM airbox to a K&N type filter and noticed any problems with running/performance?

Was thinking i should just bite the bullet and buy an OEM airbox from the main dealer/bmminiparts for £105+vat. Phoned a couple of breakers, one wanted £150+vat for a second hand one, so thats out of the question!!!

If any nice person out there with a 2.5l or 3.0l that has gone out and got a lovely ram air group m type induction fancies parting with their original airbox let me know! :poke:

It feels almost as though it chokes (for want of a better word) sometimes, especially if you blip the throttle, kinda stutters and does a big sucking sound! doesn't always happen, maybe only a dozen times in the 4k miles i've put on it over the last few months.

Refit the OEM box as BMW have the system well sorted. Unless you go for something like a Gruppe M and spend a lot of money then as you've discovered most of these kits just convert to a hot air intake.

I fitted a K&N panle inside the OEM box and cannot tell any difference.

Amazing a breaker would want far more than new :headbang:
