Who's good for insuring a remapped car?

I want to get my car remapped now it's out of warranty - will probably go for 280bhp from Celtic
My insurer isn't interested - they have a blanket no remaps policy

So which insurers to try next?

try adrian flux.
We went with them when we used to do seasons at the ring with an Atom years ago.
Competitive, if not exactly cheap as I recall.

Hi op
I’m with LV
i have had a remap by Celtic and they were very reasonable, as with all the other mods I’ve done. I’ve mentioned these before on here and people have said they had no joy with them. This IS insurance companies we’re talking about, and it’s beyond me to fathom how they work out prices. All I can say, is they might be worth a call 👍

Ditto 👌

Charged me £25 extra

This has been discussed many times.
LV for me. No charge on a 50% power increase (156-280bhp).
LV also don't charge the dreaded 'admin fee' for anything you need doing. 1 car mapped, 2 had reg numbers changed all separately. No charge and info updated instantly. Their excesses are quite high though and haven't had to claim. They say you only know how good an insurer is when it comes to claim.

Thanks all

I agree with this:
They say you only know how good an insurer is when it comes to claim.

Having claimed painlessly twice in 12 months on house insurance (Aviva via M&S) I don't mind paying a bit more for a better service

I moved from LV to Chris Knott Insurance, both covered all my cars mods, remap, decat pipe, intercooler, B12 kit and non run flat tyres for a smallish (£90) additional charge.

I've just gone from Chris Knott (which used LV as my insurer ) to Performance direct and saved £100 and guess what ? Yep the the insurer with these is LV also

I remapped mine with Celtic to 280bhp too and esure were happy to cover it and i think it only added £30 or so to my premium.

I had mine done by Superchips (now Remap Kings) in the summer.
Ran it through the Quidco comparision tool (Automatic Cashback!) and ended up with ESure for a very reasonable figure.

I'm sure OP has already sorted insurance, but will add for anyone searching this, I notified Admiral of my modifications and they only charged me the £9.50 admin fee, no change to the premium.

The downside though, is that none of the parts I've added are insured. So, for example, if there's a crash and my wheels are damaged, they won't pay out for the wheels.

LV offered me a good deal better than brokers, I paid £25 for effectively about 10 different modifications, they are all covered

Renewed my insurance on 14th February moving from Chris Knott to LV. So in the last 3 years I’ve been insured with LV, LV via Chris Knott and now back directly with LV.
