I got stopped doing 130 mph going into Vegas on the 15, about 10 miles out.....I said to the officer, sorry I didn't know how fast I was going....and he said....good, then you won't mind me writing 150 on the ticket then!! Got one night in a cell, $1200 fine and a telling off from the judge the next day.....
I have have a had a clean licence for 20 years, I never speed in built up areas, Auto and Cruise help, but ridiculous as it sounds, the day I bought my Z in Manchester, I was driving back in my Merc on the Toll road and was following a Z4 at about 1*4, I never drive anywhere near that fast but I wanted to look at the Z on the empty motorway, empty apart from the speed trap, I am in Court in August, its either 6 points, or a ban.
Either way I deserve what I get, I still can't believe how stupid I was. :thumbsdown:

been driving 6 years now and never had any points.
i did get caught by a motorway speed camera (overhead ones) doing 63mph in a changeable speed limit area (ridiculous, i know), but have chosen to take the speed awareness course. £95 and clean license
this was on the M6 aswell.

The M6T runs within a mile of my house. It's a prime piece of road to not only speed on but get ticketted. Lots of unmarked cars cruise it.
People have this feeling that because it's largely clear and they paid it's a free zone to speed. In fact something like 95% of trafic exceeds the limit. Google speeding M6 Toll to see how many results it returns..

Clean as a whistle, though how clean a whistle actually is I dont know. Nearest I came was about 110 on my bike blue lights behind me s**t myself but fortunately he had other business.
0 at the moment....And havent had any for 10 yrs or so..
Got banned when i was 21 for totting up of points....I avoided the courts and all my hearings were brought together...
Ahem...27 points and 6 months ban.. :thumbsdown:
I did my time like a man.... then within 3 months of returning i got caught doing 116mph on the M6 motorway on my Kawasaki ZXR 750 H2 .....
12 months ban.. :x
Had the odd fixed penalty after that..
Got banned when i was 21 for totting up of points....I avoided the courts and all my hearings were brought together...

I have no idea how but I have never had any points. I'm 28 now and learnt my lesson last year when I had to attent a speed awareness course for this:
I should have been outright banned 4 times in the past. Once got summonsed for dangerouse driving and driving with undue care and attention but never heard any more? I thought the guy behind on a single carriage way was trying to race me and being 18 in a brand new chipped up Mini I left him for dead! I slowed down completely when it got to residential and when he caught up he pulled me over like I'd nicked my car! He was sooo pissed off, completely calm and monotone whilst shaking and writing my ticket. I asked him what would happen now and he calmly replied ''you will go to court and get banned'! It was so surreal I didn't believe him and thought he was winding me up but I got it checked by a copper friend and it was a legit summons.
I can only think he didn't have enough evidence to prosecute
