Who's charged?

Beedub, i love your motor, tastefully done and would love to do that to my car if i had the time and expertise. With all the mods how would the car fare as a daily car? I've had my //m for just over 3 months and i'm 4k miles in already. :D

Glad I'm not the only one who's driving it properly - 5 months and 7k miles for me, though there's 1,500 miles to Scotland/Kye and back in there. Well done sir

Thanks Bing. It's my daily drive, i didn't buy it so it would just sit there and look pretty :D

Hm, it's an interesting one - I can happily afford to run my ///M as a daily driver and would like to supercharge but do wonder if the insurance/running costs would be silly enough to price me out of making it a daily driver.

I suspect the 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it" phrase kicks in? ;-)
My current policy will allow me to add a supercharger for the princely sum of £0. It is a specialist policy with all my other modifications declared though. That said, it's much cheaper than Admiral (who won't cover a supercharger for any amount).
I'm still building up the courage to SC mine for fear of causing expensive harm to other components. The longer Byron goes without significant engine or transmission problems, the closer I am to fitting a SC :)

although alittle extreme its totally DD-able... engine reliability and transmission just isn't an issue for me... their will always be failures but i worry far more about the rod bearings on the stock s54... the TQ loading is so gentle things aren't getting the massive hit you think... TQ is what breaks things... the very nature of the s54 with a centrifugal is relatively low tq, it still needs revs for power, jus feels like theirs a bigger CC motor in their.

fuel consumption only gets silly if you drive like a tosser then its really bad, under normal and light loads its as before.

these kits have been run up to well over 100k, and have been in production in various guises for over a decade, they are a proven quantity imo, But i do understand peoples worry, sadly the s54 has more worries that supercharging can't effect.
