Who's been driving in my Z4 today...?

That's brilliant - for feck's sake don't forget to tell us when it is airing !

Aired in March/April next year. The request came through to the BMW Car Club. Another car was volunteered, but was an Alpina so didn't fit in with their requirement for the day. They then needed someone quick to replace them, and I volunteered as I'm between contracts at the moment.

The average used car price is around £5300 at the moment, so they were looking for three cars to feature which could be purchased for around that price. Looking at prices on the usual sources a Z4 is certainly an option in that price range. They weren't that bothered that mine is technically worth more, but obviously the Alpina is considerably more.

Was going to ask how it came about, all sounds very exciting, I look forward to watching it!

Amazing to think zeds come into that price bracket now btw

mines a manual 3.0 :( although your's does look perfect with the 108's and red leather.

the pic where they seem to be waiting in traffic makes your car look a lot more than it's worth now 8)

Oh meant to say, regarding the camera car...

Once saw James May filming for top gear at Kemble, camera man was hanging out the back of an old Volvo estate - must be the way they do things although imo you'd think there's a more 'proper' solution!

Nice !! when i was thinking about buying a sportscar is also looked at the RX founding out that engine breaks a lot ( and i mean a lot), so my question did the rex go kaboom ??

Who knows what they are actually worth at the moment. Real headache trying to gauge prices on cars, particularly roadsters.

You occasionally see a Range Rover on TG with a camera guy hanging out of it as well.

Having only bought mine a few months ago I'd be very surprised if you could get a 3.0 on an 03 plate for that money unless it was particularly shabby or at 100k+ miles. Same goes for a boxster S. £5.5k is 2.5 territory.

You could probably get 2 RX8s for under £6k. That engine doesn't half like to commit suicide. Had a friend that worked for Mazda and the service department used to do engine replacements on a weekly basis.

Plato is a fan of the Zs like he was in his Z4M roadster review

I hadn't actually seen this full version just the short one. Worth a watch he pulls off the gearstick! For you you strugglers of changing nobs ;)

What station broadcasts Fifth Gear in the UK, Discovery Channel? It's on Discovery here but I'm not sure if we get the most recent episodes. Would love to see it :)

That's pretty cool

They film quite far in advance though, bit of a wait until we can see it.

tomscott, I've aways liked that review of the ///M.
