Who to replace Cameron ?

The last week has been an interesting time in politics to say the least, and especially today. Whatever went on between Johnson and Gove behind closed doors?

Anyhow I'm relieved that Boris is out of it, all that jovial front meant that either he's an idiot (I don't think so) or a two faced cnut. However Gove is a backstabbing t**t who can't be trusted to run the country either.

My money is on May.

As you say, a very interesting week in politics!

I just wonder if Boris is smarter than everyone gives him credit for - negotiating the Brexit will be a painful, complicated and tedious process. You won't get much support from the voting public while that is going on, so why not just bide your time and jump into the fray next time?

Really cannot stand Gove - he's just another version of Osborne! Slippery scheming opportunist with zero charisma - would pretty much prefer anyone to Gove!

As for Theresa May - NO, NO, NO! She supported Remain - why on earth would anyone trust her to negotiate Brexit when she didn't even want it to happen? :headbang: I could see her working out how to get us "trapped" into staying!

As so often in politics it seems to come back to the "least worst" option! Maybe Liam Fox (if he is behaving properly these days)!

Frightening as this scenario may be, at least there is no credible opposition at the moment!

Whoever gets to be PM they ought to give Farage a peerage and let him do the dirty work - saves them getting too involved with it!

We just seem to have a vacuum with no real leaders right now - almost as if nobody ever thought the vote would go this way!

Personally wish IDS had stood - he supported Brexit and is very calm and capable (I know he was leader once before but I think he got the job too soon and in a no-win situation).

Whatever happens, we are in for an exciting roller-coaster ride!

absolute masterclass in how to butf..k your pal.

let popular boris be the front face of a campaign you orchestrate because your face is unacceptable then just as things are about to fall into line stab him in the back and take the glory..

do we really want a slimy traitor running the place . . .

Agreed - I don't trust politicians, and would trust him even less after that display
Looks like May is the only (sensible) choice now

Politicians........how are we supposed to trust them to do what's best for us and the country when they don't even trust or believe in each other?????

I very said it before and I'll say it again. I don't trust or like any of them. They are only in this game for their own interests/ self gratification. Which Gove has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt this week. The slimey, smug, lying, 2 faced creep.

See, I don't see it that way. Any vocal Brexit supporter would not have been making the best negotiator with the EU when being all smug in a way. She would be the quiet, calm strong negotiator who has not burned the bridges with the EU by being a supporter of Brexit.

She will still execute the wishes of the referendum in the main spirit. Coming from current position, she is very well up to date on the exact core purpose of Brexit - i.e. immigration. That was / is her daily job to deal with that, so who better to see what can be done?

+1
And she was originally in the Brexit camp, but switched to the other side early on.

Well she's done a sterling job of immigration so far....... :fuelfire:

Andrea Leadsom could be the dark horse who springs a surprise, she came over well in the debates for the Leave side.

Otherwise, Theresa May.

Let the best candidate / woman win!

What a mess we are in ..........no one with leadership ability.......no one I would trust delivering my newspaper.....or alone with one of my kids, I'm fastening my seatbelt , its going to be a bumpy ride

I see it's not taken the slime ball of slime balls Osborne long to find the ultimate excuse why his economic master plan won't deliver!

Opportunist self serving wnakers the lot of them - we now have nothing but career politicians with no real life experience - so if it wasn't covered in the lecturers class notes at Oxford they don't have a clue how to deal :fuelfire:

What a mess we are in - :headbang:

Well it's Therese May v Andrea Leadsom - thank God the chinless wonder Gove was eliminated :D

mind you - the way things are going Brexiteer Andrea will probably win - she 's already saying she will move things along as quickly as she can so won't be long before the great British pound will fall to parity with the Euro ( if we're lucky )

Oh please God NOT Andrea Thicky McThickface Leadsom.

This is the genius who once proposed that all websites (yes ALL) should be reviewed and rated like Films are, before being allowed to be published. And should be re-rated if they change.

I'm just hoping that T May has even the faintest grasp of how the Internet actually works.

(Oh and a massive +1 for Spikeys comment)
