Realised I'd not been on here so long, that I didn't even post one of my best 'Ring-trip videos yet...

Managed to catch up one of the Ring-Taxi M5s and keep with it through the lap (watch for the blisteringly quick CSL at the end of the vid tho! :o )...

I was quite pleased with myself after that lap though.. :)

If I lived somewhere I could hit that track occasionally, heck yeah, I'd have an M. Looked like fun and you should be proud of that lap.

(mercy that CSL was wicked fast)

(note to self, sign up for one of those rides!!!!!!!)

Very cool Sixspeed and a great lap.
Wonder how Sabina would have got on in the taxi without I assume 3 pasengers in it?

From my understanding they drivers of the Ring-Taxi's have been told to hold back a little now. There was a BIG accident last summer with a fairly new driver, who managed to come off in one of the cars after the first few corners (T13 for those that know the place). Since then, and especially as they're fully loaded with passengers anyway, they're a little slower than they used to be.

I have no doubt that had she been on her own, and let off the leash (so to speak!), that I'd have had a much bigger job to keep up with her. In fact, if you time the lap, I think it only works out around an 8min 30 (bridge to gantry), which is still quick, but by no means near what that car should be capable of!

Still looks good tho.. :P

I can't wait to go take my car out to the ring. I will throw this disclaimer though:
I am quite paranoid of all those blind corners, so I'll probably be super slow....unless of course someone who knows the track wants to let me follow them 8)

You caught it, well done and very nice lap. The initial pull away from that M5 was impressive!

Your Z looks well planted.

I was through the gates fairly slowly. If I remember rightly, I was getting a bit of vibration through the wheel initially, which made me back off, but it disappeared by the first couple of corners, and I think was down to some debris/rubber on one of the front tyres/wheels (you should see the amount of rubber that gets collected on the inside of the rim after a few laps!). You can see the M5 pull in a few of the long straight sections, but its not as vast a difference as I'd expect. Although, they are probably carrying an extra 150-200kg in passenger weight!

Very nice, you should have dressed as the stig, white helmet, white car & white race suit, he would have slowed down for sure. Very impressive driving by the way !

Lovely lap, from someone who has no expeience of these things other than watch F1 your lines seem pretty damn good , Great Post :D

That CSL was moving! Interesting how much quicker (not a surprise) our cars are in the technical sections - What's that date in April agian?

Not there any chance towards the end of May are you? I'm planning a trip over there during that week. :-)

Which week? I might be. Depends on work at the moment really. I will be there sometime in April for definite, either Easter weekend or the 24-28th...

Great vid mate!

Did I hear your speed alarm going off through the course? If so, what was it set at?

Cheers, Al
