Berlimey, what does all this mean?

Started up to go out for a spin and and all this lot illuminated on start up.

I had the ABS unit fixed by ECU Testing so hopefully it's not that again.

Could it possibly be a wheel sensor?

Car seems to drive ok.

Has the car been stood a while as it could be battery, as it throws all sorts of weird faults out when on its way out or low

I had that exact combination of lights a couple of months back. I created a thread at the time and various people had the same experience as me: it happened, then disappeared never to be seen again!

Weird innit! Yes, the car hasn't been driven for a couple of weeks but the battery seems fine, she fired up first turn of the key.

Hello,

I had the exact same issue with mine a couple of years ago. In my case it was the lateral acceleration sensor under the drivers seat that caused the issue. It's easy to change but a bit pricey from BMW. Fingers crossed it's just a wheel speed sensor, a diagnostic test should identify the issue.

Cheers,

Jon.

Hi Geezah.
I had this display about a year ago. After going through a lot of the checks listed above, it turned out to be one of the two break pressure sensors that are connected to the master cylinder infront of the bulkhead. The one nearest the bulkhead is the front breaks.
Found they were about £90 each on eBay. Made a call to Quarry motors in Sheffield and they posted a tested proved pair for £46. Local indi diagnosed which had failed and swapped this over for me with no loss of fluid from the system.

Thanks very much for the gen guys, I'll try and find time to get the diagnostics done soonest and report back.

So...went for a spin today and no lights, all back to normal! Lets hope it stays that way, WTF? Stay tuned for the next instalment!

Yep, the lights have all come back on again, so I ran an INPA diagnostic and the one error code which I can't clear is 5DA0 which according to Babel Fish on line translator translates the german sentence as:

5DA0 - Right front electric speed sensor defective

Do they mean the wheel sensor? Anyone replaced one?

Yup we be my interpretation of that. Only one way to confirm that. Change it and with a bit of luck problem gone.

So, changed my wheel sensor over (well my mate down the garage did) Yes, yes I know it's only a 5mm nut.....which happened to be fused in place, which snapped and a 5 min job took an hour etc,etc but don't they always?

So the 5DA0 - Right front electric speed sensor defective code has cleared BUT I can't clear this one:

5DA3 Wheel speed sensor (front right) run-up plausibility detection Any ideas anyone?

Does the sensor count a toothed wheel? When I ran smart cars those toothed wheels would corrode & even break causing similar issues.
