i washed my car on sunday, the full wash, polish, and wax and after a short shower today i have dougnut shaped dust marks all over :( has anyone managed to prevent this or reduce the buildup with the use of some fancy products by any chance?? i hate my car looking dirty :headbang:

I used a microfibre cloth on mine very gently yesterday to remove the dust from mine

ive tried that but it doesnt take long before it starts to bond and requires a wash  (cars been clayed too)

Chrisj900, what colour is your car? Spray with quick detailer and buff with microfibre cloth helps to make car more dust repellent. I use Meguiars one and it is great. Comes in purple spray bottle and very easy to use.

EDIT: spelling errors corrected, excuse my mis-spelling, eagerness and mobile phone don't go well together all the time. And 6am, need kwafee :P :P

A rinse with filtered water should remove the dust. Tiresome and expensive though.

A car cover might be the best solution if you don't have a garage? :)

thanks oakandacorns, il try that... its black which makes every mark visable (my bumper and front end of the bonnet look horrible with stone chips :headbang: ) and i wish it would fit in the garage but that is loaded with 4 huge gym machines and 30 dumbells all over the floor so no chance its fitting in :(

Id remove the gym equipment mate! :)

haha even with the equipment moved i still wouldnt be happy putting it in as my last car ended up with a huge scratch from a retarded family member

I have a very poncy dodo feather duster...I only do it when it's dark

I've always wanted an ostrich feather duster for my car. Poncy +1

But you have to make sure it's only light flyaway dust, otherwise you could mark the car when using rapid detailer....I just put the hose over it, and with a waffle towel, takes 10 mins to dry

Difficult to aviod unless you can cover it up.Mine is Saphire black and lives outside and I must admit, I've got used to seeing it covered in dust the day after I've spent ages making it look nice. Fretting about it does ease the longer you have it. The next solution is don't buy black cars.
