Who has SORN their Z

Wouldn't dream of putting mine off road for the winter. Had some great winter days out around north Wales last year with the roof down. Just need to upgrade now to a 3 litre with heated sports seats and all the extras :driving:

Just remember to keep your insurance in place folks. Friend of mine had his SORN'd car stolen and had cancelled the insurance  once it was recovered 4 months later almost every part/panel was damaged/worthless. Total loss and no one to claim from.

I'll be SORNing the Alpina soon but transfering the tax and insurance cost on to a winter project, so I can drive that all winter whilst I get it up together and also send my Alpina steering wheel and seats off for a refurbish.

I did it last year and hope to do it again for a few months this Winter.

Where you getting the wheel and seats done? And what are you having done?

Im going to send the wheel to Royals for £125 and was hoping to get the seat done locally. The leather isnt too bad at all but i want new foam inserted to make them fiirmer

Ah, OK. Royals did mine, also had it thickened to make it a far better wheel (also got them to wrap and match the zhp knob at the same time). They couldn't do the leather spokes though, unfortunately. Ended up doing those myself.

Interesting on the seats, was thinking of getting mine restuffed plus some tidying up on the bolster.

Currently in the 6 month obligatory ownership period required for import process to Holland. Should be de-registered with dvla and introduced with dutch systems by march 2017.
Until then will be enjoying topdown winter days bazzing through the dutch and european countryside. Heated seats ftfw!

Not going to SORN as its my only car and need the fix of the straight six :driving:

Yes that's one thing I am going to miss oh that noise. The Disco SDV6 does sound nice when you floor it, but not as nice as my modded backbox

Wouldn't dream of it, the cars there to be driven. Road tax is super cheap on the M so it's really not worth it

My Z4 is my daily driver so no SORN for that - it needs to earn it's keep!

Having sold the Stag and TR earlier this year (both of which were eligible for free VED so there was no cost benefit of SORNing anyway) the only one I have to SORN is the Chimaera which I will do on Monday. The nice, dry salt free days are few and far between during winter and it is a good opportunity to get all those little jobs done.

Did mine last month, possibly too early but we have the wife's E89 if there is a nice sunny day to get the roof down, so all is not lost! :driving:
