We did, bloody shedloads of the stuff..

I normally have a lie in on a Thurs, well until 0810 as I'm not in the shop all day. Was planning to take the boys to school, go to the cash and carry and generally have a lazy day.

Until I was woken by a phonecall from a staff member @ 8am, asking if I had looked out of my window yet. I did and was greeted by this.

She then went on to tell me her schools were closed, hence no childcare...

So I tore out of the house, thinking "need to get to cash & carry"

Fires up Waze in the van, as I always do because of the live updates, and my journey to the C&C which normally takes 18 mins tops in the rush hour is, and delays increasing...

Sod that I thought - I'll go straight to the shop and go tomorrow..

40 mins later, I'd just gotten off our estate, the traffic on the main road was so bad. Journey to the shop normally 15 mins = 1hr 5min.

So that's me feet up, cup of tea and bingeing on old TV for the next 13 hours :)

Snow rant over!!

Boys were happy though!

Much ado about nothing.. I'm telling you - Hitler missed a trick back in the day, could have saved all his bombs and just dropped 12" of snow, would have had the same effect!

Bloody snow got up at 6.30 to travel from Kinmel bay to Blackburn to pick up some alloys, work commitments means waiting till next Wednesday :x

Not that there is any snow down south at the moment, but you can't order heating oil. I despair - 1 week of snow, the water mains burst everywhere and the country runs out of heating oil.

My pictures were taken just south of Salisbury. However we're now in the news for different things than the weather. Funnily my wife and I were going to eat at Zizzi's on Sunday! :o

I work for the local water company and yes there have been burst mains, but the vast majority of no water calls I have dealt with in the cold snap is due to poor pipe insulation in properties. This cold snap has really shown how bad some home owners/builders/plumbers have left pipes exposed to the elements. A real eye opener
